There are a number of different species currently at Pats Cats Etc and wherever possible they have a home from home atmosphere. Cats are free to roam but with heated and safe accommodation if they choose, dogs socialise and play together and most live en famille. Of course there are exceptions who are not able to associate with other animals, in which case they have heated kennels and runs, nearby company of others and humans.
On arrival
Each incoming animal is treated as an individual and arrangements for them are made accordingly. Wherever possible we try to gather as much information as available to try to provide similar diet and accommodation so that the trauma of change and upset is minimised.
Small animals
The small animal room is for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fancy birds and outside runs are available during suitable weather conditions. There is also free holiday accommodation provided for small pets in return for a donation which assists with the running of the sanctuary. It is important to stress that everything is voluntary with no outside funding.
